Find Care & Housing
I don't want to jump to conclusions, but please explain how somebody who is so severely disabled as to be eligible for support plans to take care of a 92 year old who is unable to live alone.

Are the alternative possibilities, which you can discuss with the discharge planners at the rehab unit if you haven't already, completely unacceptable? Why so?

Where did your Aunt reside prior to going into rehab? What are your Aunt medical issues? Is she mobile? Does she have any type of memory problems?

It is nice that your are offering to help out but please note that at the age of 92, your Aunt might start to need 168 hours of care each week, would you be able to handle that all by yourself? If she needs help in being lifted out of bed to go to the restroom, would that be something you would be able to do for her? What able cleaning your residence and that of your Aunt? Could you afford to pay for the extra help? Could your Aunt afford to pay?

As for Federal or State funds to build an addition onto your home, I haven't heard of any type of program. Maybe others on the forum can give you more information.
