My79-year-old father had a stroke 3 months ago, now needs surgery for blocked ceratoid but only has 24 days left of Medicare. What can we do?

he has been having symptoms like Ortho static hyper tension, getting light headed and dizzy, with a side of dementia on top of that. The surgeon said that if my dad has the surgery that the meds to knock him out could cause more dementia and that he would probably need two months in a nursing home to recover. I am at a loss i dont know what to do.

Would your dad qualify for Medciaid?

Pretty sure he does. Guess i am kind of ignorant about Medicaid. Doesnt that mean we would have to sign over the house? My mom still lives there.

No. Medicaid recipients are allowed to own a house.
