It's spread to his liver and a lymph node in his lung. He doesn't have any appetite so hardly eats anything but he continues to drink a lot of water. Thank you.

Banality is right, hospice is a great help and resource. They usually have a phamplet listing what signs to expects from months to days. Hospice is not only there to help your dad but your family also. Praying for peace and comfort for you and your dad. 🙏

Have you got him on Hospice care? I believe that Hospice would not only give him good end of life care, but would give you knowledgeable people to ask these questions of.

I think a move to hospice is in order here. Just remember the great times you had with your father, and there are people trained to help your father and help you out, too. My mother was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer some seven years ago; the cancer had spread to her liver and bones. Three weeks later, she went very quickly and peacefully. I later moved to an apartment not too terribly far from the house I lived in; it took some getting used to, but I just loved the apartment.

As long as he is eating and drinking, you have some time. When he can no longer drink even small amounts, time is very short. Just keep him comfortable, do not deprive him of pain medication when he asks for it.
