Anyone dealt with Medicaid and what they offer for home care for elderly once on Medicaid in Ohio? Just wondering what your experiences are. If they provide good in-home care, if it's a pain, if it's strict? My mom has dementia. Just needs help bathing and making sure she doesn't walk off, and cooking, cleaning, chores. Thanks for any input.

They also handle Hamilton, Butler and Clermont counties. If the person is on Medicaid and eligible for some home health they will bill directly to the State. Generally bath assistance is twice weekly. Cleaning is a certain number of hours every two weeks. Shopping assistance is also available, transportation to appointments. If you are looking for full-time support to stay with Mom you will most likely have to apply for a Medicaid waiver. Sometimes there is a lengthy wait for the waiver program because there aren't that many waivers available.
