Any experience with disintegrating hip bone?

86 year old mom broke hip. It was pinned, now the bone is disintegrating and she is in pain whenever she moves, she will never walk again. Add Dementia to the mix, any advice?

I don’t know if this helps, my mother has pain in her hip and at times she cannot even walk.
The next step which we have not taken due to getting a referral is a cortisone shot
