Are any expenses in an ALF monthly costs tax deductible for the resident?

I was wondering if only the care portion of the monthly bill could be written off or can the entire monthly cost including rent be underwritten?

If the doctor said it was medically necessary, you should be able to write it off. If the move was by personal choice, no. See IRS pub 502

What about the care portion? That is e itemized charges yiunpaynfor medication administration? I would think that would be tax deductible.
