I am going through a similar situation, and it is extremely uncomfortable. I would tell him, that kisses on the lips and tight hugs are reserved for his Son only. I would try to be lighthearted about it, but stand your ground.

I'm sorry, and I truly do not mean to be flippant, but give the old man a hug if he wants one, maybe not the kiss on the lips, but at 94 I'm pretty sure he is harmless, don't deprive the old guy of this blessing... but of course if it makes you terribly uncomfortable, then don't do it....But what's the worst that could happen here??? The old guy has a trip down memory lane.... I truly don't mean to be rude, but I don't see the harm...

I have always hugged him and given a kiss on the cheek, last week after I hugged him goodbye, he said give me a kiss, so I kissed on the cheek like I do always, then he said give me a close close tight tight hug and kiss on the lips. Now I am uncomfortable to be around him, I don't know how to act? He has no one else except myself, and my son (his grandson). Any and all advice is appreicated.

Hi all, I am new here. I am glad I found this thread. This morning my 84 year old grandfather made me feel very uneasy. He asked me to give him a hug, which was fine, then started rubbing my shoulders. I had not problem with this. He then tried to forcibly pull me on top of him in his recliner. I told him it was hurting my legs. I went and made myself busy. He called me back and again started rubbing me. I decided to stay behind him and rub his shoulders and face. He kept trying to pull me around. I felt extremely uncomfortable. I am trying to chalk it up to his Alzheimer's but still feel awkward and embarrassed. Then I feel a bit of guilt thinking maybe he just needs some more human contact. I do not know. It is all very difficult.
