I work as a caregiver and my client has a problem with roaches. I was wondering if there was any way that they could receive help to get these cleared out as I know that roaches are filthy and create an unhealthy environment for my client.

I would greatly appreciate any answers and help!

Contact the community in which your client lives - either the building and inspection department, or the code enforcement department. There are HUD grants available for emergency repairs, which I think would include a roach infestation.

The grants are subject to income limitations, and from what I understand funds aren't available until the grants are renewed annually, so it may not be an immediate fix.

You might also call the county public health department, anonymously, and ask about help. Roaches are a public health issue, so they might have some insight into sources of help.

Good luck - this is a really tough issue to address, and presumably there are conditions which allowed the roaches to colonize, so those underlying conditions would also come into play.

If she lives in an apartment building, there should be an exterminator who comes in twice a month to deal with this. If not, perhaps others can advise as to what can be done in a private home. If I t is an infestation, then I believe you need professional to come in. If not, there are products out there for this.
