My boyfriend's father is 88 and lives out of state. Most of his family is here. He falls quite frequently and his memory is fading quickly. He is now in the hospital due to a recent fall and will then go to a rehabilitation facility for a week or two. All family members have tried to convince him to come and live either with of us or in a facility of his choice. He refuses. We tried having someone go to his house and check on him, bring meals, help him bathe, etc. When we tried to find someone to stay with him 24/7, he refused. Help, please! Can he be forced to leave his home?
