My mother-in-law has decided she needs to give up driving. We are looking for programs (other than friends) to help her get two and from appointments.

Call the Area Agency on Aging. There must be Kansas City is a big place with lots of services. If a vet also call the VA

Check out GoGoGrandparent - it's an automated hotline that let's folks use Uber and Lyft without a smartphone. It worked pretty well for my grandma after she fell, she couldn't drive. And she's been using it ever since!
