Look in the mirror and open your mouth. If you see patches of red and patches of white, look up "thrush images". Stare and compare.

yes to pams post . my aunt neglects her dentures and gets mouth thrush often. she says it feels like her tongue is on fire . theres a great rinse called marys magic potion but its prescription and 70 bucks a bottle . your doc can get you the equivalent but much cheaper . still a script item i believe ..
better oral hygiene might not even resolve the problem if youre just succeptable to minor infections .. talk to doc is my advice ..

Why don't you try faithfully soaking your dentures every night, and see if that makes a difference. Are you about due to see a dentist? Discuss the problem with him or her.

I can't eat some things I used to enjoy, including very hot spicy food. I just chalk it up to age. Can you eat ordinary things and just cut back on the jalapenos, vinegar, and whatever you seem sensitive to?

lots of ordinary things a wide variety foods, some sweet things, but mostly spicy food and not very spicy things can cause me to get something liquid, tea usually, but sometimes that won't stop the burning. I have to keep drinking or eating some bread or anything to get relief, it is a very serious problem I've talked to my dentist and he got me some strong mouth wash but even that now is as bad.And I've mentioned it to my family doctor with no help.
