Does anyone know if dementia effects keeping ones eyes open?

My mother constantly blinks, squints, closes her eyes-even while eating or riding in a car.

Mom should not be driving a car. It only takes a second to have an accident. I believe Dementia effects the eyes, I think there were times Mom didn't see. Maybe an eye exam should be done.

Have you had her vision checked, or her eyes examined for something like dry eye?

Yes, she has dry eye, but uses eye drops. Before the diagnosis, don’t think she did this.
