Such as peeing in the trash can spitting on everything. Taking food that is uncooked out of the freezer or fridge and hides it in her room and it sits there and rots until I start smelling a rotten smell that I can’t put my finger on where it’s coming from. She always does it at nighttime when me and my husband are sleeping. I now have to sort of keep an inventory of what’s in the there so I know if something is missing and I always know where to go look for it.

Find Care & Housing
thill, you have just described dementia. It will only get worse. If you are not willing/able to continue to care for her in your home, she will need to go into Memory Care. If she can't afford memory care she will need to apply for Medicaid. You should help her do this. I hope you have her durable PoA. Even if you don't you can still fill out the app for her as her representative. Then you should take her to a doctor and have her take a cognitive exam and be tested for a UTI (which can make dementia symptoms worse). I wish you all the best in helping her get the care she needs.
