Katie Kate is correct. The antibiotics kill both the good bacteria and the bad bacteria. That is why there is often a proliferation of yeasts and fungal problems, and there can be an attack of C-Diff diarrhea. You can take the probiotics if you wish, but they are poorly absorbed in ANY case, and will be killed by the antibiotics. There is little you can do until you stop the antibiotics, and not a lot that can be done after, as pro biotics are poorly absorbed. Always a chance. There are several kinds of probiotics; you should speak to your pharmacist about which are best. Then lots of the foods that support good gut probiotics and feed them, fermented things like krauts, kim chee and yogurts and so on. They likely do little good but they sure don't hurt.
