My FIL gets up several times a night because of incontinence (prostate removed 20+ years ago). He's now 89. He and my MIL live in Independent Living and she has to get up and help change him and the sheets---often more than once because he can no longer get to the bathroom or even bedside urinal quickly enough. He wears Depends, but that isn't doing the job. He's on the highest dose of Detrol that he can be and often is dehydrated because of his wish NOT to have to pee at night. Night time is the worst.
Before I suggest to his urologist to possibly prescribe one (the only person he'll listen to about it)---do condom catheters really work?

They can---but in my limited experience, if they shift around during the night and the seal is broken..well, you have a flood. I'd give it a shot.

Dad went to an internal cath when he became bedbound, but sounds like your dad can get up...definitely give the condom cath a try.
