My wife has severe dementia and is clinically blind does anyone else know of anyone that has been diagnosed as clinically blind?

Is this a new diagnosis of clinical blindness? My understanding of clinical blindness is that it is eye sight that cannot be corrected better than 20/200.
Does she wear corrective lenses?
