A new diaper brand like TENA or Prevail might be the best solution. One that is more absorbent or that's designed for overnight wear might be good places to start looking. Does he only use a diaper when he sleeps? A reusable bed pad might also work! Just in case there are accidents that leak through the diaper. Medline Item # MSC13000 is a good. Just search it on google and you can find companies who sell it!

Molicare Super Plus - holds 1600cc....not cheap but they are the best. If you are only using them at night not that expensive.

All of the above and as an added thought: hydrate well during the day but no water after 6pm...

My Mom is totally incontinent and I have tried everything. For her, the CVS brand fitted briefs have worked the best thus far. My Mom still has a healthy appetite so she has good output. The CVS brand is very absorbent and much cheaper than the name brands....Good luck!
