Sorry to hear that your Dad's journey will be ending in the not to far future. This can vary from patient to patient, depending on when they were placed into Hospice. One can be in Hospice for months, other only a few days.
Ask Hospice what do they think is the time table, they are pretty good at judging when will be the final 48 hours. For my own Dad it was pretty quick and took us by surprise... for my Mom it was several weeks.
If Dad is still alert and talking, have the family come in how so that they can still talk to Dad. If Dad is in a coma like state, let the family decided individually what they wish to do. Some might prefer to remember Dad prior to this situation.
I am so sorry about your dad. Hospice told us once they stop food and fluids death normally happens within 10 days or less. My mother-in-law lived six days.
