My Dad needs pj type pants that snap together. Is there anything out there like that?

yes there are lots of adaptive clothing. check the local medical supply store or just type in "adaptive clothing" on any search bar.

Yes there is stores out there that carry them as they are available in gift shops in hospital gift shops. That would be the expensive way to go I think. But I found that most people did them their self. If you sew all you have to do is open the seams on the pants on one leg and put in some snaps, you can sometimes find them gently used at the thrift shops. You could call a nursing home in your area and they could probably head you in the right direction. I hope some of these ideas help good luck.

Thanks, Michele. When I'm not too tired, I will check it out for my father. We're currently using regular tshirts and it's such a struggle to put it on and off. When he's suppose to bend his arm to get his arm out of the shirt - he straightens it, etc... I don't think he's that far gone to be willing to wear a hospital gown. I bookmarked the site.

My husband likes sweat pants and/or lighter weight exercise ones. They are available everywhere.

This is great info. One does not want to put too much money in these considering how long they will be needed. I shopped, perhaps the wrong time of year, for sweat pants with a fly and pockets. It was a challenge. Now having the correct term, I should be able to locate more easily. Thank you!

Oh heavens yes allot of available resources out there.Walmart ,you may have to ask but they have them.Speciality stores and medical supply stores are especially helpful..you may have to call a few places..good luck

Also try Buck's online. Also Velcro works by opening the seams and sewing in 1 inch pieces, just like snaps, but Velcro instead. I bought sweat pants without a fly, just as pull-ons, as my husband could no longer use zippers, buttons etc. Bless you for trying to make it easier for your loved one and yourself. We need all the help we can get to make their life more comfortable.

I bought my dad the flannel pajama pants. He was always cold so he loved them. And his t-shirts, I had him hold his arms straight out and put them in first and then pull them over his head.

I was only thinking of the shirt because he's bedridden and his left side is weak from the stroke. Lately he's been complaining that I'm hurting him as I struggle to change his shirt every time I change his pampers. I just realized why Fulgence is asking about the pj type pants with snap ons. My father also has a catheter. What a struggle to change his pants and always dreading what would happen if his poop came out of the pampers... I would be making a mess as I struggle to take it off with one hand while the hand is holding the catheter bag. I'm going to also check out the snap on pants.

I have bought my husband's snap type pajamas at Walmart. I don't know how much he weights, but I get them in the young men's dept. Good luck!

My brother keeps yelling help constantly in the nursing home. Its very hard to take. They just ignore him. He says he scared. Any advice?
