This is the link to The American Legion. Hope they can help you, and if they can't they should at least have some ideas.

My respects to your father on Remembrance Day tomorrow. All the best,

Ok, Michael Moore, you win: I have finally learned to love the NHS. $200 for two prescriptions? That's extortionate, surely.

The answer is: there must be organisations that can help you. I know there would be here in the UK, and I cannot for one second imagine that the USA doesn't do better for its veterans. Do you know what regiment your dad was with? That could be a good place to start asking.

Best of luck. I'll ask around and come back if I find anything.

The veterans administration. Your father was probably in WW2 and the benefits are great. My father gets benefits from WW2, full benefits from The Battle of the Bulge in Belguim....depending on your fathers condition and if he was actually in battle you need to do this. My uncle also, from the Korean War. All medical expenses paid, hearing aids, glasses, etc. It takes a while for them to gather the information they need and to be approved, but well worth it. They also consider dementia as a way they support the vets. Do this soon, as your father can have all his medicine paid and all health care as well as a nice pension. As a vet he deserves this help. Good Luck. Gather all the info he has on enlistment and exit from the service. .. I am assuming you in the US. Just call Veterans Administration near you. BTW the also have retirement homes at no costs.
