Dr has recommended Cymbalta for my almost ninety year old mom who has depression & neuropathy symptoms. I'm sure hoping the side effects are minimal & that it works. Any success stories anyone can tell?

Yup. My 93 y/o mother is wheelchair bound with bad neuropathy (not diabetes related) and has been complaining of bad pain and 'deadness' for years now. The doc just put her on Cymbalta a couple of weeks ago & so far so good! She said her legs are MUCH better and the only side effect to date is a dry mouth. Last time she had a dry mouth issue I bought her Xylimelts online (peppermints to suck on) and that solves the problem.

She also takes Wellbutrin for depression (has for years) but maybe the Cymbalta will give her an extra boost in that department as well. Hard to tell since she's the most negative human being I've ever met :(

Good luck!

Very few side effects with Cymbalta. Good for neuropathic pain and depression.

TY! My mom is so afraid to take any depression meds after some fifty years ago she had a screaming episode when her dr gave her a med too strong. She's so in need of one to stop her anger, negativity, & mistreatment of others. Now, her feet are red, swollen, burning, & sore to walk on. She's not diabetic either. IF cymbalta works for her pain, it will be the Godsend we've been needing for years. Feeling hopeful!
