I was considering purchasing Depend Fit-Flex on Amazon and although the product had been getting great reviews overall, many of the recent reviews stated that the product had been modified recently and was now of poor quality. I need to start having my mom wear something for a relatively light incontinence problem, but I know that if she has a bad first experience it will be nearly impossible to get her to try something else. Anybody have any “before and after” or at least current experience with this product?

Many of the incontinence product websites offer samples, free or for a small fee - perhaps it would be better to try that?

Well circumstances demanded that I had to go ahead and try the Flex-Fit and so far no problems at all. Mom is grateful for the assistance. She had no idea that her pants had been wet, and because of the depression, she wasn’t changing her clothes. So her pants would be wet, dry on her, get wet again, etc. The odor was awful, but it seems she also can’t smell that. Her sense of smell has diminished substantially recently but I was surprised at this. She seems to be doing OK with all of this but has to be reminded to change in the morning and at night. But any change in routine is a challenge for her, so no surprise there. I’m just glad she’s not fighting this. Thanks for all the input, as always.

What I read from the reviews on Amazon was that there had been a very recent change (late 2017 into 2018) in quality. Product shredding, elastic not holding, etc. I know people here purchase in bulk so they may have product from 2017. I hope you’re all right that there isn’t a change. I think I probably only have one shot at convincing Mom to try this so I don’t want her to have a bad experience.

Hmm, we've been buying Fit-Flex for over a year now from various places (Target, Costco, CVS) and I have not noticed any difference in the product during that time. Hopefully they won't change it!

daybyday, my Dad used the Depend Fit-Flex and before that the regular Depends. He really liked the Fit-Flex. I was getting Dad the size that my Mom thought he needed. Fast forward to Dad living in Assisted Living and his Aide recommended I get the next size larger to make it easier for Dad to pull up all the way, she was right.

I was buying Dad's Depends from the grocery store and from Target, never had any problems with quality. Maybe it has changed as it's been over a year ago.

Sometimes places will purchase merchandise as "specials"... same package, much lower price, and lower quality :(

There are websites of companies that just sell incontinence products, and such companies have a large variety to choose from, and some will mail out free samples to try.  One place is HDIS.

My Mom used Poise Pads which she really liked, but it is trying to find the right pad size and that comes in many different sizes. It works the same as a Kotex pad. There are other products likes Always pads and Tena pads to try.
