I need to talk to other caregivers. I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I'm 32 and the sole caregiver for my mom. She has multiple sclerosis and lives with my husband and I. She has been here for two years and is completely bed ridden. The home health care agency expects me to revolve my life around them. I'm getting so sick of it!!!!!!!!! I absolutely lost it on her nurse today. I feel bad. They are late if they show up at all. I'm late to work and school because of them. I work and go to school full time. My mom was in an assisted living facility and they didn't use the sit to stand equipment to move her and due to that they dropped her and broke and ankle. I took her out of the facility after that. She would have had to go to a nursing home after that fall because she could no longer use a sit to stand. I just need someone to talk to.

I am 64 and no way would I get help from my son who is 35. He has a job full time and he lives 20 miles away. No I would not expect him to drop everything and care for me. You shouldn't either. Get her to a nursing home.
My mother took care of 4 kids and her MIL. She died at 37.
My grandmother died trying to care for my demented grandfather.
Don't die before your time by giving too much. Know your limits.

I am sorry that your are having a hard time. Home health agencies are usually willing to accommodate YOUR needs, you are the customer. Can you shop around for an agency that will coordinate care according to your schedule? Can your mother go to a nursing facility short term to rehab her injury?

It is important to keep your priorities here....I know, it's easier said than done. Hope you can get things settled so you can focus on your education.
