I just started a little Co-op for my mom's peers, Mornings with Dorathea. I have invited her friends from church who have dependent spouses to leave him or her at our house for the morning and get their teeth cleaned or their hair cut without their beloved escort. I have given them 9am-2pm and a choice of $5 an hour or banking caring time for another day when I need help. The idea has been well received.

I figure like when my kids are little, if I am stuck I might as well help someone out. They have to be able to walk up my driveway (a little steep) and promise not to dirty my sofa (ie- diapers, if needed)

This is a fabulous idea! I hope more caregivers can start such groups. You sound caring as well as practical. Congratulations.

I posted on another site Caregivers for the county I live in; not one response. They must be out there.
