Since PNA funds are for the snf resident, I'm thinking that maybe when the slice of pizza is shared that it becomes a misuse of funds. The smallest size pizza is still too big for 1 person. It would probably feed 3 elders or 1 younger adult. I will pick up the pizza, take it to the facility, and submit the receipt for reimbursement if it does not create a major conflict. I've been told by facility staff that residents can choose how to spend their money.

I admire your honesty and concern, but I think this level of detail really might not be necessary. As I understand the PNA funds, they're for use at the discretion of the resident, whether he/she wants to buy a pizza or lacy lingerie. It's her money.

I would double check with the staff first. There may be some residents who shouldn't be eating pizza and if that's the case it may not be wise to order a pizza to share with some but not with others.

It sounds like a fun idea though!

Good point Eyerishlass; pizzas aren't the most healthy foods even if they are tasty - sometimes.
