Yes. Put it in writing to the person you are POA for. If there are other family members ... inform them also...in writing.

if the POA is on file with the county clerks office...then, go there and file you resignation letter there too.

Yes, if you know the lawyer who drew it up, ask him how do u handle it. Hopefully the principle is capable to assign someone new.

Some people are nor aware they are POAs. Thats why I think those assigned should sign off that they are willing to take on that responsibility. I was there when Moms POA was drawn up but nowhere did I have to sign.
