My mother is on Medicaid in NYS and has an aide 7 days a week. There is a pool club at her housing development . Can the aide accompany her there free of charge? The person in charge says that she will have to pay not only for the mon. To friday aide but the sat and sun. As well. This doesn't seem right since they will not use the facilities. Can anyone help?

Seems to me this is an issue between your mother and the management of the housing development.

Does the aide use the pool?

Were you wondering if someone here could intervene on your behalf?

Another thought - read the lease and any rules and regulations for using the pool.

I see your profile states that you're caring for your mother and she's living at home. But now she's living in a housing development?

I honestly don't know about the legalities regarding this specific situation. I do know here in Oregon there are many places that will allow an aide in for free when admission is paid for a disabled child or adult. Museums and even movie theaters have that policy. I only mention this here and now as it might be something folks want to look into concerning affordable activities to get their aging loved ones out of the house.
