Find Care & Housing
I thought you were in subsidized housing? What is subsidized? Basic necessities are food clothing shelter. Not cable, but there are subsidized rates for low income telephones, called "Life Line" in most states. You should look into Medicaid coverage for prescriptions and incontinent supplies.
Your power company should have a subsidy program for life support equipment, just call them and ask them.

Might be your living expenses, not mine. I spend $44. per mth on depends and $17 on Toilet paper alone. Guess nothing else counts like car ins., rental ins, any food you might need or want after you spend the $100. mthly Food Stamps. Pay my own utilities except water, and am on oxygen 24/7 so my electric has been as high as $160. per mth. Don't shop at thrift stores, no need to I have plenty clothes most of which are too big now due to losing 35 lbs. while in the hospital. Wouldn't want to have any of the nice things like cable or phone. Still paying on Credit Cards, and am proud to make a small donatation to St Jude each month. So lucky to have family that cares for me as I know plenty of women here who never hear from their children and it breaks their heart. Here again we have a prime example of our present government giving to everyone who walks onto this land, but the senior citizens can all fall off the cliff and it's too bad, they just keep making it harder and harder on us, and we're the ones who worked and helped make this country what it was. Be nice to get back to there and get a little respect again.

Well, in subsidized housing her rent would be about 30% or $210. That includes utilities. Food- she should be getting food stamps. Clothing-- elderly don't buy much and find bargains at thrift shops. $490 goes pretty far unless there are a lot of prescriptions, in which case she should have a Medicare Advantage plan with Part D (Rx) coverage.

What exactly is considered living expenses? Less than $700 a month isn't much to live on.

If the money she gives you is a gift, no you do not declare it as income. She does not declare you as a dependent by giving small gifts.

Your daughter can only claim you as a Dependent on her IRS income taxes if she pays more than 50% of your living expenses.
