Can an assisted living facility remove someone for disruptive behavior?

Uunfortunately, an AL can kick a resident out for any reason or no reason whatsoever.

Could it be time for med check and perhaps higher level of care?

Yes, they can and do. My mom was one that had become a danger to herself and others. She was on hospice at the time and hospice recommended a much smaller care home, about ten residents, more staff,a higher level of care and a couple thousand cheaper each month. It was a perfect place for mom, homier.

Some the only option is a geriatric psych hospital or nursing home. Check on care homes. The care home my mom was in every, yes EVERY resident had been kicked out of their previous facility because of behaviors. Can you imagine?

Yes, they can if they feel the resident is a danger to the staff or other residents. Has she been checked for a urinary tract infection or does she need her medicines changed?

My Mom is just down right rude and nasty.  She has no UTI; she chooses to act the way she does.  She acts like the world revolves around her and only her.  She demands the staff to wait on her and has no regard for the other residents.  She screams and yells when she wants something and bangs on the table until she gets it.  There are only four people in the home with one caregiver and the caregiver cannot answer to my Mom's every beck and call and frankly the caregiver is getting fed up with my Mom's behavior.  My Mom complains about everything, the caregiver, the food, the place.  I cannot even go visit her without listening to the caregiver complain about her for 30 minutes every single time.  So it makes me not even want to set foot in the place.

Maybe, your mom feels their discontent towards her and that fuels the fire for your mom. I personally think the caregiver needs to learn to deal with it and stop barfing her discontent all over you. These residents are in care facilities for a reason, I can't imagine that the caregiver can not deal with your mom. Wait a minute and that is not okay ma'am are appropriate responses to inappropriate behavior.

She sounds narcissistic and if she is, this behavior will only get more obnoxious as she ages.
