Help for my senior aunt and uncle. There grown children with children will not move out. What can I do?

My aunt and uncle allowed their grown son to move in temporarily when he lost his HUD housing. They now have him, his grown son and girlfriend, and 2 minor daughters living with them for a long time. The son gets assistance but spend his money on "questionable women" instead of his children. My uncle is feeding them all and buying the clothes, etc needed for the children. My uncle has high blood pressure and my aunt seems to be depressed. They ask for help and ask for the son to buy food, but they all refuse. They do not know where to turn for help.

I just found out today that the grown son has threatened to beat up my uncle if he kicks him out. This is a home they built as their retirement home. They owned the property about 15 years before and would camp on it and dreamed of the day they could build on it. But yes, they are talking about selling it. I am going to call Oregon's elderly abuse hotline on Monday to see what they have to say.

It is a difficult situation for your aunt and uncle to be in, but only they can do something about it. They will have to tell them it is time to move. Either that or they will have to sell the place and move themselves. I'm afraid that no one else can help them.
