I received a certified letter today saying my dad has to move out within 30 days, no reason given, just lots of threatening language. He had not been told anything and when I told him, he said why? I haven't done anything!

I caught a caregiver/owner smoking pot and I think this is why. Can anyone tell me what to do? I plan on calling my local council on aging Monday but, I feel like there should be others. There have been loads of issues, diabetic with no podiatrist care, prescriptions not being ordered for 7-10 days after prescribed. The manager works for the in home pcp company. So this seems to be a conflict of interest, which I wasn't too concerned with until the care started going down hill.

I am probably leaving out tons of details,  so any information needed, please ask.

Any advise or help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to all of you.

Why havent you moved him to another place already? If the care is as such.

I do think finding out why your father is being 86’d is important. If nothing else, from the stand point that if there is an issue with your father that is serious enough to have asked him to leave - mighten it become an issue again, where ever you move him to.

Is is it possible to ask the manager why, using this line of reasoning?

Moms AL did handle her med prescriptions. Thru their pharmacy but worked with her insurance. I had to go thru them for OC meds too. A little higher because I bought on sale. ALs do not provide doctors. Moms podiatrist did see her in the AL.

Maybe Dad needs a NH. It would take a lot of responsibility off ur shoulders.

I signed him up for the in home care, the manager of the AL also works for this company so they are his primary care doctor, manager orders all the medications as part of that contract as well as in home podiatrist. He has been seen 2x in first four months, then in January I requested the 2 month foot care, yet to happen. I ask questions and have tried to be patient, I ask them if my expectations are incorrect, please tell me . I am only asking them to do what their contract says they will do. I do not think I am being neglectful, when your PCP says they'll do the appointment scheduling and you are asking every 10 days what's up, does this seem neglectful. I have had to ask where are the prescriptions, do I need to go get them, etc. When I am told time and again it is being handled and nothing I can do, then 2 or 3 days and no meds, repeat process. Can you help me with how I should be handling this?

I am hoping someone call help me figure out how to proceed from here. I will not keep in in this AL, but they have given notice in the middle of the month, he doesn't have the money to pay them for next month for 10 days and rent something else.

I don't want to keep him there. I have been patient with the facility because it is fairly new and the owners are young, it has only been recently that the care has gone in the sewer. Except for the podiatrist which I have been trying to get an appt since Jan 30.

I am planning on getting him some place else to live, I am wondering about the illegal drug use and how to get these guys reported, my dad is 1 of 8. The others need protection as well.

Oh the weight has also been an issue, I thought he was eating too much. I had been told that they were monitoring his weight, bold face lie. How do you know if you ask and they tell you one thing and something else is really going on?
