I think they are trying to find someone they can relate to. Its a different type of dynamic as a young person taking care of a parent. The effects it has on ones current lifestyle, career and future are significantly different. Thats just my guess however.
I was, I started taking care of both my parents in my 20s. It's very hard and lonely sometimes and a person can even feel left behind as others go on to marry or have kids or even travel or take on new jobs. Please know you are not alone.
