You don't need an RN to administer meds. An LPN can do that and some CNAs are trained as Medtechs.

The Visiting Nurses in my Township are subsidized by our Township. I was told when I started working for them that we were unusual. There are "in home" agencies that maybe able to help but as our Visiting Nurses, a doctor's order would be needed for the service. You could try the health insurance supplimental to see if they have the service.

Cost? If you can find an RN to do it, probably $40 an hour. LPN a little less.

If Dad is in a Independent living (not living independently) maybe they have the service for a cost.

Maybe its time for Dad to enter an Assisted living.

Agreed. Most care agencies have a minimum call-out period, but a nursing service may be able to do just what’s necessary. Where I am the Royal District Nursing Service does just that, free of charge.
