I have been taking care of my parents since I was laid off from my job in November the day after Thanksgiving. My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer in October and my dad has cataracts in both eyes, he has one surgery done but another is pending. My parents are both in the upper 70's and my dad can not do a lot like he used to he is starting to get arthritis really bad and my mom has a bad back and COPD on top of the cancer. I heard that you can get financial help for taking care of my parents to help paying bills. My parents get paid once a month and that barely makes it to the end of the month. My unemployment is going to stop really soon. So I was wondering what I needed to do?

Find Care & Housing
Medi-Cal will take care of them, but not you. When your unemployment runs out, you should contact your county social services and apply for SNAP and HEAP and possibly a paid training-to-work progam
