Is there anyone with whom one can speak to discuss a situation to help determine whether or not financial elder abuse is actually present?

I'm seeking a conversation with someone knowledgeable in the area of financial elder abuse to better understand its definition and symptoms. In other words, while my gut tells me that abuse has occurred, my personal shock and disbelief with what I've uncovered leave me with some doubt.

Do you feel comfortable taking this issue to law enforcement?

There are also the Adult Protective Services agencies, but I personally haven't found them to be very thorough.

What you might do is run a search on elder financial abuse; I'm sure you'll get a lot of hits, including for law firms which handle this.

Contact an elder law attorney.
We got ours through the city's Senior Center referral for a greatly reduced price. (Donation based on ability to pay.)
