Has it been helpful for everyone to get a good nights sleep? I don't mean sedating someone, just relaxing for 6 or 7 hours sleep?

I didn't want to do this, either. However, my mom has vascular dementia and was up every 2 hours or so - sometimes more often - almost every night for 5-1/2 years. She sundowns and nights were a real struggle. I work full time and nearly broke down. We tried Temazepan once in a while, but it did nothing. Her primary care doctor was switched and the new doc said the Temazepam was bad for older folks and could actually make them more awake. He started her on Seroquel to help with her dementia and sleep. She now sleeps at least 6 hours straight on most nights. I was so worn out I couldn't even think straight - no exaggeration. She's been on the Seroquel for a little over a month now. We both get better rest.
