Is that not working for you?
You can add 20 Mule Team Borox to the load, or you can presoak in it. It is a powder sold in the same aisle as the detergents.

I think it's working. Just thought there might be a secret or something to it. Don't want all clothes picking up a "scent"....

Don't know how old you are, but my kiddos wore cloth diapers. I had a plastic diaper pail and kept a solution of 20 Mule Team Borax and water in it to soak diapers in. I think urine is urine. Fortunately, we don't have that issue around here YET, but I throw in a handful of the dry into the washer with the detergent just to keep the "old people" smell down.

There are also enzyme products sold in the pet stores and aisles of other stores that is useful for removing urine odors. Nature's Miracle is one.

I am washing my clothes separately from my mother's - I noticed there was a lingering scent on the clothes if washed together. It's more expensive, but worth it to me. I don't care to walk around smelling of urine, no matter how faint it is.

I never had kids; great suggestion on the nature's miracle, I do have 2 little dogs and have a jug of that stuff always on hand. And Susan, I'm with you, I do try to keep our loads separate. Hmmmmm...think we could get one of these red carpet ladies to try out a new cologne??? Ode de toilet, all proceeds go to ALZ research. LOL, sorry, I'm fried for the day and humor is getting a little weird. :)

Francis when i had babies in cloth diaper ikept a pal of water with bleach added and every morning dumped them in the washer on a rinse spin cycle and then a hot wash with a little bleach added. If you can get Mom white cotton panties this should work well.

I'm from australia so not sure if u have the same products. I've researched this and tried lots of different ways. I wash mum's clothes and sheets separately from mine. I use warm water washing liquid and a capful of napisan ( nappy wash) two capfuls of dettol antiseptic and capful of concentrate rinse. Before the final rinse I put in 2 cups of white vinegar. I gave away the front loader and fixed my top loader as the front loader wasn't getting rid of the smell. Good luck
