My mother-in-law has been under Adult Protection Service for the past few years. She hasn't talked to me... for a variety of reasons, that were untrue. I contacted her and she now knows what she has heard were lies, but since her husband and only son died, and I was not in her life the Adult Protection Service took over her finance. She use to send money to all those "you won lottery" if you send me ?? amount of money.
Now, they have sold her house and she said she didn't know they were doing it. All her stuff is in the house, but I cannot go in there to get some of her belongings. Is there any recourse to this problem?? Or is it moot??? Thanks for any and all help. I hope I explained this clearly enough.

I would check with an elder law attorney. It is possible that they had to do this to repay a bad debt. I know this is hard. take care
