My mother is becoming more depressed and due to acid reflux symptoms, looks for excuses no to eat, avoids physical activity and will absolutely not try to walk, exercise, or leave the house except for doctor appoinments. With the accompanying results. Oi.

Is she being treated for depression? There are so many drugs, and some make people worse, not better, depending on body chemistry. It's about finding the right one and that can take time. So, if one medication isn't working, another may.

At least she will see the doctor for her other ailments. If the doctor isn't aware of her drepressed mood, a letter to the doctor may help make the next appointment more fruitful.
