I’m trying to find out if any elderly people need to get rid of their dog because it’s too much on them. I live in SC but would be willing to travel to NC.

You would have better luck posting something like this on Facebook. Contact facilities, give them your contact info. There are families that frequently need to find a home for a pet because of health reasons or move to a facility.

You will, no doubt find them at shelters in your area. People relinquish pets every day for all sorts of reasons.

God bless you for being so good! Our FB local group ( maybe your "local postings section" ) often has people looking to rehome pets due to a move, or a death in the family. Many of the dogs are older, but still looking for love and a good home!
