A friend reminded me that a Public Broadcasting Service program premiers in the U.S. today, May 7, at 10:00 p.m. eastern time. Called "Caring for Mom & Dad," the special is narrated by actor Meryl Streep and also will air on Mother's Day (Sunday) and Father's Day (June 21) at 7:00 p.m. eastern. Or, it can be viewed online

The show is underwritten for public television by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) which estimates that more than 42 million family caregivers serve in the U.S.

If you have a chance to watch, maybe we all could discuss it afterward.

Unfortunately it isn't being shown here in the Washington DC area, and in my area we have 3 separate PBS stations, you'd think one of them would have the show :(
