Hmm. There's an idea. My other option is to ask my dentist if I can make small monthly payments. I don't know of a dental school around here but that does not mean there are none. You have a sharp mind, Ted. :)
I'm here, Ted. Was just getting caught up on what I missed earlier. And I must say, I am very proud of you. What you are planning to do is SO NEEDED!! OMG is it ever!!
Wow, talk about jumping through hoops to get a place to live. I have to have proof of funds by Friday and now I gotta go to the financial guy and get my portion put in a separate account before they will write me a proof of funds letter. I got one from the bank today. The current owners of the house have already started to move out. Weird. I think I would wait at least until I know the buyer has the money. Oh well. Whatever.
I guess I am just gonna have to keep taking Advil for this toothache. We can't afford for me to go to the dentist right now. Unless it gets so bad that I can't stand it. I gotta start thinking about a full time job too. Yuk!! I definitely want something low stress. I've had enough stress in my life for 10 life times. I know all of you can relate. Hubby and I have talked about opening a consignment shop. I think that would be fun. Maybe with the money from the sale of the house. But there are no health benefits when you own your own business. Sucks. Why does life have to be so freakin' hard??
Having a lot of problems with my computer, so can't get to my email, takes forever to load this sight, and just wanted everyone to know, that emails me, It will take time to get to them. How did we ever live without these stupid screens and keyboards???? No way we would have got to know each other , laugh cry and support. And yes Ted, I AM very very proud of you. You set a good example for us all whether you know it or not... Have a lot of new info for the thread. My friend Donna is a hospice nurse and has given me info that will help in our quest for answers.... will share that later on today, have some other things I need to do first... love ya all. later
HI Jen, Glad the March went well. I am thinking of joining an Alzheimer walk, 2 miles I think, next month. It's good of you to stay on and help mom with the FP.
Well I walked the March here, with about 300 other people, didn't see myself on the news yet. Was fun and loud...My God check the sound system before belting out Gospel, I thought my ears were gonna bleed. Saw the Mayor, The head of the National NAACP, the Police chief and Local Sheriff. Was very cool. am sore now but was worth it! Nice to get out too. Never seen so many old Hippies on one place. Today fart pants snapped at my mother for wanting to wash his damn dentures after he dropped them on the floor.." Get OUTA THE WAY!" "NO Daddy we are gonna wash your dentures!" "I just washed em!" "They fell on the floor you are not putting them back in your mouth after they fell on the floor!" "I was gonna wash them..." He lies trying to cover his ass...Oh just die already ya asshole!
Hope all are doing OK. As OK as possible that is...
jsomebody - i think ure doing the good thing and kinded heart to look after your mom now . u see whats she does and knows she needs a helping hand . ure a sweetheart lookin after ur mom . follow what u feel u need to do . youre very smart and a big sweetheart ! love you girl .. xoxo

Miz, that will be beautiful. A friend of mine has a gorgeous parlor sofa and she also has cats. They never go near the nice furniture. I asked her how she managed that. She said she sprays cotton balls with perfume and puts them into the tops of plastic soda bottle lids and places them on the furniture until the cats are in a habit of staying away from the nice stuff. Just a hint for anyone who has animals...
Allshegot, If you've done all the research, pros/cons and have a good backup plan and your leaning towards it, sounds like a good opportunity. This could be the start of something great. Have you spoke with other people who have the same type of business? Good luck!
Ladee, YES, I DO need you to be proud of me! This thread and you guys on it are my only source of encouragement, advice, friendship, and even discipline when I need it, seriously.
I'm not kidding when I say it's just me, mom, the dog and the cat in this. so please, be proud of me, lecture me, ask about when I don't show up for a few days.
Linda, Keep thinking about your future, you deserve to have a good one!
Morning......AC knows a good thing when they see it.....there are so many knowledgeable people here who are in the trenches and can give excellent advice...and we seem to attract new people almost everyday....and we send out the word to "come aboard"......they would be nuts to put us in time-out when we get a teeny bit out of control....:) Sure was hoping my t-shirts would be back in time for Vegas....speaking of which, has anyone heard from Peach? I hope she is doing okay. miz......I'm jealous.....you are going to have so much fun decorating your new house! Do you take Reader's Digest? If not, go buy the April issue, there is a section in the Money Digest that lists tons of websites that offer coupons, freebies, discounts, you name it....I went through each and every one of them yesterday and there are some terrific bargains to be had if you only know where to look. Bath day with the col on Saturday went well....she even allowed me to wash, dry and curl that new perm...:O......and she hasn't gone near it with a comb or brush since. Cleaned her house last week and saw that she had ant visitors and tried to explain how we should keep the CRUMBS off the counter tops....put some of those cheap little plastic ant murdering devices out and cleaned....haven't seen any more, but hey it's only been a week. I think she may have dumped her dinner down her front cuz her shirt was soaked, but I was too tired to even go into it...seemed like it didn't bother her one bit. Caught her Saturday night just as she was giving the dog a Banquet dinner.....ooohhhh she was a little pissy when I took it away and tossed it in my trash. She says he has lost so much weight...how can ya tell.......oh he wiggles a lot more......omg this dog is so fat that I'm afraid he might burst! I've been finding cookies, crackers, snack cakes on the floor that she is giving him. I am through babbling now.....must go to bank and get slot machine moola......check back later...
ted- u made me open my eyes . im thinkin and wondering where will i work at when dad s gone to a better place . im sitting here wastin mytime doing nothing and learning nothin in education . i always wonder what do i wanna be when i grow up ? here i am almost 49 yrs old and i still dont know what i wanna be when i grow up . im thinkin hell ted s doing some schoolin online . ump . i should do that too . what do i wanna be when i grow up ? hell i wanna be a retired caregiver . i wanna go to bobbie s boat !! waaaaaa . i do know that i will have to get a job when its time to go to work outside of home . i guess the lord s gonna have to guide me and give me some ideas . my ideas for right now is go do some laundry , lol raining stormin out , perfect day for monday . went shopping yesterday , spent too much money on lit cart full of food , then drove all the way home (country) and realized when i put grocries away that i didnt buy any bread , grrrrr , no bread here today , may go to dollar tree and hope theyhavebread . be my luck ill forget it again . wheres pirate ?? wheres christina ??? bobbie ???? jam the ram where are you ? what do i wanna be when i grow up ? i know , i wanna be a house wife :-) ok laundry time , xoxoox
Good morning -tomarrow I go to the account-he will either help or have a nervous breakdown oh well I know where the psch unit is in all 3 local hospitals so S.O.B.'s that will not clear up things for me probably if he tells them to. Al least now we can print something we want to save and they say we can email and they seem to realize we are the real experts being caregivers so I guess this site is good we will get use to it in time-just wish there were more questions we could help with like before.
Ted,,,, Hooray for you. I know you don't need me to be proud of you... but boy am I... you're right, but once you get in that routine, it will come a little easier for you... I was telling my friend last night, that when Ruth comes home, I will NOT do double stress like I did before.Have decided to set the family down before she gets home and have a "come to Jesus meeting with them. More details later about that, but I am not going to have BG running me in circles and trying to take care of Ruth at the same time. There will be changes or I will quit. I love Ruth and you all know that, but what about ME. So Ted, maybe we have the same angel talking some sense into us... love ya and very proud....hugs across the miles
allshegot, a tough decidsion, but i think either way there's a big regret possibility -so I say GO FOR IT!, Just be sure to give the whole thing some serious and honest thought so that you'll be a little prepared when the tough stuff does turn up, like his being away alot, and having his mind on the work, it'll leave you with more responsibility at home, but if the two of you understand what you'll be up against, you'll both handle it just fine. And it will give you both something positive about the future to focus on.
I just made some decisions to go ahead and start living my own again as much as I can while still caring for mom. It dawned on me one day that the only way to really try for mom's happines is by keeping the entire household, including me, happy and healthy, not just her. It is double-duty in a way, but I think it's important for us all to keep striving to find the right balance between our responsibility to our loved ones and our responsibility to ourselves.
careshare, we plan to hit some estate auctions for furniture. Probably go for the Victorian look.
I've been looking on line about the best way to set up a room as a closet. They have some really cool organizers that cost a whole lot of money. Hubby says he will build it for me. I do know I want a long curtain rod so I can hang up all my clothes both Summer and Winter. We have dressers to put in there also. I can't wait to be there. Just gotta see how the money situation goes. This waiting is driving me insane.
Gotta work more on this house this morning before I go to work. I know work will be busy because people get their checks at the first of the month and they will be paying for their newspaper subscriptions. At least the time will go fast.
Have I lost the Pirate??? Been out of commission since they started this new website. My mom is constantly eating...on the street, in the store, in the car. She has crumbs all over the house. Anybody out there know why? Her sugr level is fine. I dont live with her but it drives me nuts. She is like a squirrel. Food in her pockets and bags. Crumbs.......
Hi All! Well, I've been reading posts for an hour or so. Boy, it's hard to catch up ...and the new format...Bobbie I'm glad you emailed them and they already fixed some things. Ted, wow, you are going to ECU School of Social Work. I admire your courage and I hope this chapter in your life is filled with growth! I feel inspired. Miz, It's garage sale season. You may find something perfect for your new home. Jam and Lori, It really does sound like you are in parallel universes....all that dirty hair, in rollers with lots of hair spray. I'm suffocating thinking about it. Rossella, I get the pet instructions. I have an essay written on how to take care of my cats... Did you go to Paris yet? I hope you have a great time. SSK, I'm glad things are looking up for you and thanks for sharing a little bit of your family story. Cuz, I loved the Seniors/Hotel joke. That was great. Jsomebody, Are you ok? It's tough being trapped in one area of the house (It's bad enough being stuck at home) Bpry, sounds like you'll fit right in. No action down there? LOL, Did the doc smile? Seemeride, Are you the one who said you were 'Hangin in there like a hair in a biscuit'? It is soooo descriptive of how I feel sometimes and funny as well. Is that a southern cliche that has been around for years that us northerners don't know about or is that something new? Laleeda, I love that you travel light. I have too much stuff and for some reason I seem to be emotionally attached to it. I had a drawing that my niece created when she was maybe 5. I saved it because I thought she would want it...gave it to her last weekend (she's 22 now) and she took it from my hand, did a little spin and dropped it effortlessly into the trash can. Now how did she do that? This weekend, I've been busy which helps me to not worry about my cat. He needs 200mL of subQ fluids a day. He has felt so good for a whole year with stage 4 kidney failure, but now he is starting to feel bad sometimes. I find out more tomorrow when his blood work comes back. As for my Uncle, he is doing just fine. He forgets things if they aren't routine, which is probably good. I filled his weekly pill container this morning. It was soooo sticky, food in it, on it, hair in the compartments, just plain gross. I hope everyone is doing well. Care
wow, allshesgot, that's a toughie. If hubby really really wants to try it, I'd say go for it. As you say you can start over and you are young. Also, it's how much more stress can you take? Is he wanting to buy a semi??

A little old lady was running up and down the halls in a nursing home. As she walked, she would flip up the hem of her nightgown and say "Supersex.."
She walked up to an elderly man in a wheelchair Flipping her gown at him, she said, "Supersex."
He sat silently for a moment or two and finally answered, "I'll take the soup."
