Hi Crew, I tried posting twice today already but I got errors. MsM one of my favorite CD's with "transending" music is called "Sanctum Sanctuorum" by Constance Demby. Another Artist that I really like is Lisa Gerard. You can check them both out at youtube. You have my thoughts and prayers. Bobby, I'm glad you got to meet Ted and have some fun! You sound like you're in much better spirits. Ann, I loved the duck joke! Jen, You are just as important as anyone else in this universe and please don't think otherwise. I would address everyone except I am so tired tonight. Dad's been having more issues and has been in a lot of pain the last couple of days... we go back in to the doctors tomorrow am. Keeping you ALL in my thoughts and prayers. Love ya!
I think it must have been a typo though I can understand dark side of the mom in my situation too but I think I meant moon, was I saying something to deef, I can't remember it now?
I was referring to where you said that other people's lives are worth more. It's not true you know but I understand it cause I have thought and said it about myself before.
Jen and Miz, You are both valuable members of this thread, the people in your lives, and mankind in general. It's not for us to understand, but every life has a purpose. There are many times I question why is a killer alive and yet innocent children are starving to death by the thousands daily. You are both important to me!
It is hard to find a good joke without a dirty word or two in it...Here is one with none!
Two tall trees, a birch and a beech, are growing in the woods. A small tree begins to grow between them and the beech says to the birch, "Is that a son of a beech or a son of a birch?" The birch says he cannot tell.
Just then a woodpecker lands on the sapling. The birch says, "Woodpecker, you are a tree expert, can you tell if that is a son of a beech or a son of a birch?"
The woodpecker takes a taste of the small tree. He replies, "It is neither a son of a beech nor a son of a birch. It is however, the best piece of ash I have ever put my pecker in."
GRANDMA'S BOYFRIEND A 5-year-old boy went to visit his grandmother one day.
While playing with his toys in her bedroom while grandma was dusting, he looked up and said: "Grandma, how come you don't have a boyfriend?" Grandma replied, "Honey, my TV is my boyfriend. I can sit in my bedroom and watch it all day long. The TV evangelists keep me company and make me feel so good. The comedies make me laugh. I'm really happy with the TV as my boyfriend."
Grandma turned on the TV, and the reception was terrible. She started adjusting the knobs, trying to get the picture in focus. Frustrated, she started hitting the backside of the TV hoping to fix the problem. The little boy heard the doorbell ring, so he hurried to open the door, and there stood Grandma's minister. The minister said, "Hello, son, is your grandma home?" The little boy replied: "Yeah, but she's in the bedroom bangin' her boyfriend."
Bless your hear Barb, and your husband too. Again, I am so sorry you are going through this, but know you are not alone. We are all with you in spirit. Many hugs to you and your family.
hi there . i am back . in laws just left . am not happy camper . mil pissed on my new couch . night before she pissed in recliner . theyre comin back friday . i am up in my chin in the black hole . friday comes i will be going under the black hole .... xoxox
Oh Linda. I am so so sorry. Why are they coming back Friday?? You can not do this, sweetie. It is absolutely too much. It's gotta stop. You have enough on your hands with your pa and taking care of the house and cooking and every damn thing else. You gotta get out of this Friday thing. You simply have to. One person can only take so much.
linda - so sorry - OMG you get something new and nice and its spoiled just like that and nothing to be done about it. The black holes are bad bad - but look with your heart and you will see it is not total darkness, as each of us has lit a candle for one another.
I had all of you guys and your candles with me last night when I began sitting vigil with Mom. I could have done it all alone - but turns out I didn't have to. And this gives me great comfort.
damn Linda that sucks! do you have to let them come back on friday? I'm sure you have some story's to tell from this last weekend. Sorry things are so crappy for you right now. BREATHE! Get out of what you can and if you can't keep breathing and you'll get through it. Like MsM says you don't have to go it alone. We're here for you.
Hi, I see these are hard times for someone (as usual) MSM: Seems you are having hard days. I am sorry. I see that you are doing very well in that situation and without help from your siblings. I would like to tell you, and Diane, and SelfishSib, all people who have problems with their siblings, that it's not worth we continue to be sorry about their attitude. (did you call them Asses, didn't you?) Let's take what they can give (a telephone call every year... a visit every 3 years) and let's imagine that our family is made up of ourselves, our aged relative, and our husband and children, if there are. (not in my case) I have developed a philosophy; what you can't solve, forget it!!!!! Shortly: Cricket - you have lived in lots of places! Annt: Thanks for the offer of sending me Fig Newtons.... Maybe in a few months. By now, it is better I stick to the diet, otherwise, as Miz says, I won't be able to wear any one of my dresses. Kuli: I guess you are already on your bike trip. I am so happy for you. You really deserve a break. Jen: I read your many beautiful posts but right now I see you with your bottle of Lysol running after your grandpa and I think you are very brave. I have lost the battle of hygiene in my house. Deef you seem very tired. Our mothers are rocks... How do they find all that energy I don't know. Linda, why, next family meeting, don't you ask everybody to take something? One can do the salad, one can do the cake, one can do the meat... People do it everywhere in the world. I don't know how you call it in USA, it has something to do with the word "pot". My brother and SIL, after many many Christmases where they invited all the big family (20 people) and they were never invited by anyone, just stopped doing it because they were fed up, and they were right. Right now, everyone spends Christmas alone, that was the result. Ksobhie, Austin, hope you are alright. Ksobhie, is that you that have a slightly chauvinist father? Be patient, girl, be patient. We have to be patient, everybody. We have to repeat it to ourselves 10000 times a day. My very short vacation was very good because Franca (cousin) did her best to entertain me. We went to the beach, we had dinner in a nice restaurant, we met a lot of people... It seemed to me I was away for 1 week, while it was only 1 day and a half. I am sorry I have disappeared, but I had to finish a group of translations, in order to be paid, as I was in very urgent need of money. Sometimes my problems with money become much more important than everything else. I have little work these days which is good because I needed to rest, and it's not good because I still need money.... I honestly hope that better times are coming, because right now there is little to laugh about. And a big hug to our captain, I am glad she had a good time with Ted! Nicky is well and kisses all of you. Today I lost her during the walk (I was thinking of my personal problems and I didn't pay attention to her, then I looked around and Nicky had disappeared. I found her after one hour! I was going to have a heart attack). Night everybody!
And a hug to everyone I have not mentioned. If things continue to be so bad, I could sell here the NASA diapers and that glue with which you glue your parents when they get broken. (that made me laugh for one hour. Do you remember the movie "Death becomes her"?) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Rossella, So good to have you back! Thanks for the sibling advice. You are absolutely correct!!!!! When I heard my mom have a good attitude, it helped me a lot. It is their loss. Plus I truly believe in Karma - what goes around comes around.
Took mom to the Urologist and he has put her on another round of antibiotics. His iffice is to call me and schedule a cystiscope (not sure how to spell it). They will take a look in the bladder and make sure there isn't something else going on to cause the recurrent UTI's.
I will be back on later, but I wanted to stop in and say hello. I hope everyone has had as good a day as possible. Love to you all!
Thought i'd posted but must have dreamed it or lost it? Forgive me if I repeat myself . .
My youngest daughter called to say she wants and needs to be here to help me, and we've booked her flight from Edmonton into Dulles on Thursday. That she has some to this decision on her own, and without pressure from me, means a great deal. Still . . .the situation is 'awkward' in regards to her Canadian husband, (a subject not suited for this thread), and I would not be surprised if she changed her mind last minute. Husband is filled with joy at the anticipation of her return. I will save my joy for the moment of reunion.
Rosella its "pot luck". Ladies of the church when I was young would host a pot luck every 1st Sunday and as Mom was not much of a cook - and did not attend church - I have very fond memories ofr these events. Back then when a neighbor was seriously ill people would fill your table with food. I think I would faint if a neighbor showed up at my door now with a casserole.
Rosie, my wonderful youngest (she's 14) kitty, voluntarily showed up and kept vigil with me last night at Moms bedside. It comforted me to have her there and i hope she will return tonight.
I have arranged to have my neice call brothers and others when Mom passes. I am glad of this, as it removes from my tired old shoulders the awkwardness and drama I have no desire whatsoever to deal with. ----- Mom is comfortable, mostly quiet - she did giggle last night when I was reading aloud to her from Harry Potter, and again this afternoon when Michael was mopping her floor. Something was making her happy. She doesn't open her eyes anymore, but she can and does squeeze my hand, and draw it to her lips.
Michael is cooking brick chicken with garlic and the kitchen smells wonderfully.
Tuesday Night Humor.......Sorry to my blonde friends
A blonde lady motorist was about two hours from San Diego when she was flagged down by a man whose truck had broken down. The man walked up to the car and asked, "Are you going to San Diego ?"
"Sure," answered the blonde, "do you need a lift?" "Not for me. I'll be spending the next three hours fixing my truck. My problem is I've got two chimpanzees in the back which have to be taken to the San Diego Zoo. They're a bit stressed already so I don't want to keep them on the road all day. Could you possibly take them to the zoo for me? I'll give you $100 for your trouble." "I'd be happy to," said the blonde. So the two chimpanzees were ushered into the back seat of the blonde’s car and carefully strapped into their seat belts, and off they went.
Five hours later, the truck driver was driving through the heart of San Diego when suddenly he was horrified! There was the blonde walking down the street and holding hands with the two chimps, much to the amusement of a big crowd. With a screech of brakes he pulled off the road and ran over to the blond. What the hell are you doing here?" he demanded, "I gave you $100 to take these chimpanzees to the zoo."
"Yes, I know you did," said the blonde," but we had money left over --- so now we're going to Sea World."
Msm, I wish I could be there in the flesh for you, but know I'm there in spirit.
Hello to all. Not going to say much tonight. Headaches started again night Saturday night. It's been a miserable day cause it's hot and the compresser is gone on the air unit so no air. Even mom who is always cold said it was hot! Anyway with the heat and the headaches.....I'm not worth much tonight. I think it may be allergies from having the windows open all day. On top of that the hospice people changed medical equipment companies and so one guys came to get all mom's stuff, bed, oxygen etc then another came to bring new stuff. Just an aggrivation. Mom doing really well. Skin tears are healing fast. Her shoulder hurts a lot so I give her the percocet whenever I can.
ANNT - what about a window unit? its end of season sales...maybe there's one cheap on craig's list? maybe a friend or family member has one they can lend? I just checked out your forecast. How bout a redneck AC with a fan blowing over a big tub of ice? Gawd I wish I could help.
annt, I am so sorry you have a headache. I am a biotch with one. Don't handle them well at all. A biotch or a big baby...take your pick. Msm, you are such a dear to want to help annt in this time of great strife for you. We have some really really good people on this thread. I am so proud to know all of you. Cute blond joke, flex. I'm a blond and I love blond jokes. :) Linda, how are you doing?? Please check in. Love to all.
Hey Ann, Hold on girl. We're supposed to have cooler weather in 2 days! Barb's suggestion of a window unit is a pretty good idea. If nothing else, fans are on sale everywhere. Feel better!
