Hey folks, welcome to the new whine/general topic thread. Feel free to use this thread to discuss anything that is on your mind. Caregiving- related stuff, life after a loved one's death, your own emotional wellbeing. Whatever..........anything on your mind.
It's so hard for the dedicated ones
Even the LVNs at hoca are only given PT hours and work two jobs
Many show up after already putting in 8 hours elsewhere
Of course the slackers make it bad for everyone - they call off last minute and the dedicated ines end up with twice the work
After a year in the field, many opt to work in fast food
Which is easier - bathing an overweight elder or working the fry machine?
Tryjng not to lose my head
While all those around me
Are losing theirs.
Caregiving is stressful !
So, I got a new library card, logged into the computer! It is a Lenovo with a keyboard.
Fun, easy, I should try to print something!
One was taking their Mom, another was not.
Inquiring minds want to know.
My vacay is almost here, when I close my eyes tonight.
Double double for both, his was protein style.
No fries for me, animal style for him.
Water for me, strawberry shake for hubs.
New idea, put the rootbeer together with the vanilla shake!
No more double doubles.
Did you MsMadge?
Is that what salads do Gershun? Moan, oh, now I understand. I thought it was the chocolate protein bar. I heard we should all be fasting the day of the eclipse, to avoid feeling out of sorts.
Erin, you found the fun! Isn't Steelers the ones who just moved to L.A.? lol, probably not, its ok. I don't follow too much sports but always get impressed by those that do! Welcome! What did you have for dinner? I am very interested in the hot dogs sold at the games. Pittsburg Steelers!
Chili peppers or root beer or real vanilla shake?
Here in Canada, hockey is the main sport. Two more months before it starts again.
Hubs found a new way to order fries, animal style. Fries, melted cheese and grilled onions on top (minus the spread), we don't want spread x1, we don't want spread x2 @ window to pay, we dont' want spread- x 3 - -handing back the mess with spread on it.
Not an ideal way to increase his calories-he has the best cholesterol reading-but you can only eat just so much salad, bunny.
Here we have a mutual admiration society going, but everyone can join! Lol.
Like MsMadge had said when you first started the General Topics, " thank you for starting this thread!"

That is why I like to post here often....anything on my mind....which is a lot lately!!!
She will never kick me outta here or make me feel unwelcome.
The OPP was called to a home in xxxxxx on Thursday just before 1pm in the afternoon.
Police says they were told that on Wednesday evening, a 92-year-old woman was watching television in her bedroom when her grandson came in and struck her on the back of the head with his hand.
The assault was unprovoked, and the victim wasn’t hurt.
The grandson was living at her home.
She called the police the next morning.
Good for her!!
In n out is sounding pretty good or maybe a roast beef and cheddar with avocado sandwich on crusty sour dough with some cole slaw
Wish I felt up to a drive to Fairfax and Canter's deli - I think it's still open 24 hours a day
Is this now the 'what's for dinner' thread????
As for me, I am having a second cup of coffee now.
We already spent our entire eating out budget this month, and then some.
If I am not more careful right now, it could jeopardize physical therapy.
However, he is happier with In n Out! That is less expensive. So, yes,
at least we will be eating out this early evening, soon as he gets off work.
Praying for you and Mom! Hugs!
You deserve all the hugs you can get!
Send, can you and hubs get to Mimi's for a nice pot roast dinner ?
