My husband is 80 years old and has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He has problems controlling his bowels and bladder.
More so with the bowels than bladder. Not every day but quite frequently he messes himself. Is this a side effect of this horrible disease.

This does frequently happen with Alzheimer's. But when this happened to my aunt they first checked to make sure that there was nothing else happening such a sudden change in medication, food, or infection that could cause it. We found it helpful to buy clothing that was easily removed. They sell adaptive clothing that has velcro and snaps that makes this easier to deal with.
