Carolyn, majority of grown children do not get paid for taking care of their parent unless the parents can pay you out of his own pocket.

Medicaid may or may not pay you, it depends on what programs are offered in your State. Ask your State Medicaid office if they have a "Cash and Counseling" program. Very few States have that program. Now, Medicaid might be able to send out a caregiver to help you for a few hours each week, to give you a breather.
