jaboatman619, I assume you are looking to bring in a in-home caregiver [your profile is empty]. Good that you plan to pay a salary to the caregiver, as many think because they are offering the caregiver their own room plus board, that there isn't any salary. Make sure your have a written contract.

Also, please note, if you have someone being in your home as an employee, you would need to check with your home insurance carrier, as you would need to obtain "workman comp" insurance in case the caregiver should get hurt on the job.

In-home caregivers can work great, but if the love one needs a lot of care, that caregiver can crash and burn very quickly from physical and mental exhaustion, and you are now back to square one looking for a new caregiver.
