My dad wears the Great Call device and we’ve had good service with it, inexpensive and easy for him to care for

We talked with our county social worker and they have a program that allows a stipend for a Medical Alert system if they have been dx'd with Dementia. MIL wears a bracelet and seems pleased with it. Since is not capable of wandering about, we don't need a GPS on her.
The cost is about $25 per month and is paid through our county.

It may be worth looking into to see if you have such a program in your area.

My Dad uses "Great Call". Around $25.00 per mo. and he takes it with him wherever he goes. It does need to be recharged, and he puts it on the charger at night when going to bed. Many alert systems connect to your land line and only work a given distance from the phone. These are monitored 2/4 7 with no charge needed. Person wears a bracelet or necklace. So many to choose from - I have friends who use different companies, and the only real difference is pricing.
