I know I should not say diapers, so I will call it ADUnderwear. Mom has an umbilical hernia, which makes her stomach swollen. Her Dr. said medium Depends pullups, but I'm not sure the medium will go over her stomach. Should I measure her around her waist and buy the ADU accordingly?

What brand has tabs like pull ups so that mom doesn't have to step thru the holes of the ADU? Mom is not flexible at all and it will be a nightmare for her to step into the legs holes of the ADU.

Mom also needs mild compression socks (knee highs). What is mild? I forgot to ask the Dr.

My Mom wore pullups. I found the Walgreens Serenity mediums covered Moms tummy better than Depends. Mom had a large tummy, she looked pregnant. Mediums in both Serenity and Depends fit her OK. Walgreens runs sales on the Serenity. Buy one get second for 50% off. These are the 30/32 count. Their monthly coupon booklet may give a $5 coupon. Smaller pkgs are sold so buy a pk of each. My Mom weighted 135 lbs, sometimes she would gain but still wore med. The pull ups do stretch. There may be a hip size on the pkg.

Mild Compression. (8-15 mm/Hg) Provides energizing compression to help relieve mild symptoms of varicose veins, swelling, tired or achy legs. Moderate Compression. (15-20 mm/Hg)

Some brands have an "open-toe" option, good for your mom who wears sandals.

Dr. Shams are my go to compression socks.

You can get them that go to the ankle and just the heal. They also come with zippers.

We found the Dr. Scholl’s brand of compression sock to be a milder version, certainly easier to put on and take off than the medical supply store options. They’re available at stores like Walmart.
The adult briefs were a trial and error, we went through a number of brands to find a good fit
