What happens to my mom's bills when she is admitted into assisted living and there is no money left to pay her bills?

Her home should be sold and the taxes, etc paid from that, the balance used to pay for her AL
Car? Sell it...proceeds used to pay AL
Since she is living at AL...she should have no other bills except her health insurance, which comes out of social security.
What bills?
